The Ghost of Willie Lynch
CAST: 6 Males / 3 Females- All Black Cast
STORYLINE: A group of first year college students must overcome the harmful effects of "racism" in order to survive their first year of college. After decades of negative, learned behaviors on the issues of self-hate, division and fear, the time has come for these young adults to get it right.
KRICKET- Eighteen-streetwise, at first glance he appears to be common street thug. Yet, despite his dark past, he is quite educated and more than ready to meet the challenges that await him.
GRAHAM- Eighteen, a co-facilitator, has lived in both worlds. Raised in a predominantly, White, rural community, he has enjoyed some of the privileges of Whites, yet, he has felt the pressure of, often, being the only Black. His belief system will be challenged during this process.
KRISTENE- Eighteen, a co-facilitator, also, hails from a middle class family. However, her experience is a little different from Graham's. She hails from Atlanta where the Black , middle class often enjoy the common experience of all Black neighborhoods and schools with few White teachers.
SLEEPY- Eighteen, and a neighborhood rival to Kricket. Often sportin' FUBU gear, Thimberlands, colorful du-rags and flashy jewelry. He struts around in an animated way.
THEO- Eighteen, middle class, intolerant of lower class Blacks, as his father, a community activist, was left a paraplegic because of a senseless robbery, perpetrated by a common street thug.
PAMELA-Eighteen, middle class, Theo's girlfriend. She is sensible and empathetic. Her character and personal strength will be the balance beam that will carry Theo through this process as he deals with his feelings of prejudice and anger.
SAGE- Eighteen, poor, Erykah Badu personified. Forever woman... forever African... she hates all White people and blames them for everything bad that's ever happened in her life.
MIRANDA- Eighteen, from a poor neighborhood. Like many Black youth, she was raised by a single mother. Her brothers are no different than Kricket or Sleepy. Thus, she will gravitate to them out of familiarity.
