JOSHUA- mid to late thirties, is extremely charismatic. It’s not hard to see why he is ideal for leading the campaign to save the neighborhood. However, he sometimes moves through life with blinders on his eyes. Too trusting of others, often, not seeing the evil that lurks just beneath the surface.
ROLE PLAYED BY:
TAMAR- mid-thirties is the wife of Joshua. A watchful woman, beautiful in spirit. However, because of her middle class up-bringing, there are days when she is not so certain that she can stand with her husband...
ROLE PLAYED BY:
MR. THOMAS- early sixties, A southern boy who’s seen it all before. “That dog ain’t doin’ nothin’ but waggin’ his tail in a different direction.” As far as he’s concerned, the revolution is over. He done seen the best of Black folks but them days is all gone now. The White man ain’t givin’ up nothin’ without some bloodshed.
ROLE PLAYED BY:
JOHN- mid to late thirties, Joshua’s friend of 20 years. College chums. John’s father is a successful, practicing dentist. Life has afforded him a few more luxuries than his friend Joshua.
ROLE PLAYED BY:
TALITHA- mid-thirties is right at home in the hood. She and Tamar were classmates in college. That is where their similarities end. Talitha and Joshua grew up in the same neighborhood. Marriage to John gives her a pass to the country club. In turn, every now and then, she takes John for a walk on the wild side.
ROLE PLAYED BY:
MS. CHIDE- early fifties, former city council woman and force to be reckoned with. Her distinct speech and mannerisms command respect. She continues her unofficial rule of the community.
ROLE PLAYED BY:
AARON- thirties, complicated. An intelligent drug dealer, who comes from a good home. Which leaves to question... What happened?
CASTING FOR:
RJ- mid twenties, a street thug. Not too bright but hungry for power. He will do anything to get it.
