Whether it is acting, dancing, directing, writing, producing or choreographing,
WENDY RAQUEL ROBINSON has tenaciously strived for excellence in her career as an
artist. This vivacious cum laude graduate of Howard University received her BFA in
Drama and is resilient in following her dreams of entertaining. Throughout her professional career as an actor, she has found success in the television, film, and theatre.
On television, she tickled audiences for six seasons and received three NAACP Image
Award Nominations for Best Actress in a comedy for her work on THE STEVE HARVEY
SHOW. She starred as a series regular on Fox’’s variety sketch show, CEDRIC THE
ENTERTAINER PRESENTS! and NBC’s MINOR ADJUSTMENTS. Robinson has held recurring roles on NYPD Blue, CBS’s YES, DEAR, Fox’’s GETTING PERSONAL, UPN’’s THE PARKER’’S, as well as ABC’’s hit animated show, THE PROUD FAMILY.
Robinson recently completed filming, “THE UNTITLED MARTIN LAWRENCE PROJECT” opposite Martin Lawrence and Megan Mullally. Her most recent film credits include “SQUIRREL MAN” with Bill Cobbs, “TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME” opposite Morris Chestnut, Vivica A. Fox, Monique and Anthony Anderson, “MISS CONGENIALITY” starring Sandra Bullock and Michael Caine, and “WITH OR WITHOUT YOU” opposite Cynda Williams and Guy Torry. On the silver
screen, Robinson appeared in the zany comedy, “RINGMASTER” starring Jerry Springer, “A
THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE” starring Martin Lawrence and Lynn Whitfield and “THE WALKING DEAD” opposite Eddie Griffin. Robinson just completed a feature film with Martin Lawrence that is not yet titled, due to be released at the end of 2004.
On stage, Robinson performed in a number of well received productions to include “THE
VAGINA MONOLOGUES” (V-Day-L.A.), “BLACK WOMAN’S BLUES”, “AGNES OF GOD”, “A MIDSUMMER’’S NIGHT DREAM”, “THE COLORED MUSEUM” and “VANITIES” for which she received an NAACP Theatre Award for Best Choreographer and Best Actress Nomination.
In 1995, Robinson co-founded the Amazing Grace Conservatory (AGC), a theatrical
training institute in South Central Los Angeles. Dedicated to “building self-esteem
through self- expression,” AGC is a highly respected training ground for young
actors and performers. In addition to her work in the community, for the past four years, Robinson also serves as the Celebrity Spokesperson for the Los Angeles Black Business Expo & Trade Show. She is the recipient of various honors to include the Howard University
Distinguished Alumni Award, Disneyland & KJLH Proven Achiever Award, and a Woman of Courage Honoree. Robinson currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
